Medium: Video
Artist Statement:
Through digital media, photography, and video, I delve into themes of memory, emotion, and personal storytelling. I examine how visual narratives can communicate intangible feelings like transformation, loss, and nostalgia. My work often explores the interplay between individuals and their environments, using both digital and natural settings to reflect inner emotions. My latest project, inspired by the loss of my mother, uses photography of the natural world to capture the evolving essence of grief. Creating visually captivating and thought-provoking artwork that promotes in-depth contemplation of individual and collective experiences.
Project Description:
My project uses videography to explore the pain I experienced after losing my mother, examining how absence shapes emotional and personal landscapes. By incorporating elements of nature—its cycles of growth, decay, and renewal—I aim to illustrate the evolving, dynamic nature of grief. This work delves into the tension between memory and reality, presence and absence, and how loss reshapes our perception of the world. Videography serves as a powerful medium for expressing feelings that are often difficult to articulate, creating a visual dialogue on grief, resilience, and healing. Through this project, I hope to inspire reflection and deepen understanding of grief as both a universal and deeply personal experience.
