Artist Statement:

My work centers around themes of nostalgia and the digital spaces that have shaped both my identity and creative work. I am drawn to the aesthetics of the early 2000s, anything pink, playful, and reflective of the media that influenced me growing up. Through my projects, I examine how these experiences continue to impact the way I see myself and the world today.

Project Description:

Standards (Critics) of a Girl is a digital site that critiques the evolving ideals of beauty and femininity shaped by media. This project is organized into three sections—The Fantasy, The Edit, and The Influence. These sections unpack the illusions media sells, the compulsion toward self-alteration, and the impact of celebrity trends. In a scrapbook style website, the project uses visuals and commentary to reclaim the narrative from a critical, everyday perspective. This project invites viewers to reflect on how media has shaped our understanding of beauty, identity, and girlhood across decades.
